The 90th International Peace Marathon in Kosice saw Ethiopia’s Ashete Dido set a women’s course record of 2:27:47 and three men under the 2:10 barrier on Sunday. The first man to cross the finish line was Kenyan Patrick Kiptanui Korir breaking his personal record (2:09:36).
Held since 1924, the Košice Peace Marathon is Europe's oldest marathon race. Starting and finishing in the heart of the city, participants run across Košice, through the historic town centre and residential areas.
