"Only love, friendship, understanding and mutual respect will save the EU and will prevent such events as Brexit," said Slovak Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko after visiting his Romanian counterpart last week. According to Danko all national parliaments play an important role in bringing the EU closer to people. "Our main goal is to prevent a policy that would destruct the EU," he said. Danko added that he supports Romania's entry into the Schengen area. Aside from the current EU's issues, both statesmen praised the history of Slovak-Romanian cooperation. Andrej Danko also thanked his counterpart for the way the Slovak minority is dealt with in Romania, having its own representative in the National Romanian Assembly.
