Slovak post won’t distribute leaflet about Interior Minister
02. 09. 2016 14:31 | News
"Slovak post has decided not to undertake the risk of possible legal action for libel," reads a Slovak Post statement explaining the refusal of distribution of the so called "Kali-špeciál" leaflet. This was published by the opposition parties Ordinary People and Freedom and Solidarity in order to explain to the public what are the alleged links of Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák to businessman Ladislav Bašternák, who's been investigated for major tax fraud. According to lawyers of the Slovak Post, "Kali špeciál" could breach Kaliňák's right to personal integrity. Moreover, Slovak Post claims that the copyright owner of the photographs contacted the institution saying it has not agreed to their use in the leaflet. After the refusal from the Slovak Post Freedom and Solidarity and Ordinary People parties are ready to distribute "'Kali-špeciál" on their own to 2 million Slovak households.
