A bust of former Slovak and Czechoslovak politician Alexander Dubček was unveiled in the centre of the Romanian capital of Bucharest. Alexander Dubček was the leader of the democratisation process in communist Czechoslovakia called the 'Prague Spring' in the 1960s which was halted by the invasion of the armies of the Warsaw Pact in August 1968. Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák said, that the connection between Dubček and Romania is stronger than many realize.
