The popularity of Prime Minister Robert Fico is falling, according to a poll carried out by the agency Focus in August. Fico finished third behind the most popular politician - Andrej Danko, Speaker of Parliament and leader of the Slovak National Party. Danko is a new face in Slovak politics and his popularity has thrived following the general election in March. Another leader, Béla Bugár from the party Most Híd, ranked second. Fico's popularity fell only by 0.5%, month-on-month, however his decline is more significant in the long term. He used to be the most popular politician until 2014, when he lost in presidential elections against Andrej Kiska (not included in this poll). Moreover, the poll also looked into the least likable politicians. The leader of far right opposition party Kotleba - People's Party Our Slovakia, Marian Kotleba ended as least likeable, followed by leaders of another opposition parties: Igor Matovič of Ordinary People and Boris Kollár of We are family.
