The overall reserves of wood in Slovakia, as well as wood reserves per hectare of forest land, increased in 2015, according to the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry. The Ministry's report reads that the ongoing increase in wood reserves is mainly due the current age structure of forests, with a high representation of relatively older forests, those with ages exceeding 70 years. In 2015, the wood reserves in Slovakia reached a total of 478.12 million cubic metres without bark.
