Construction of the National Football Stadium launched

Preparation work at Tehelne Pole in Bratislava for the construction of a new National Football Stadium (NFS) has been launched this week, according to a statement on the Slovan Bratislava football club's website. It will be built by the company Strabag which won the public tender for €59.7 million. The new stadium is expected to become a reality by the beginning of 2018 at the latest on the site of the former Slovan Bratislava football ground and will have a seating capacity of more than 20,000. The state has committed itself to completing the construction work and to purchasing the non-commercial part of the stadium. Moreover, the state will provide the investor with a subsidy worth €27.2 million, but this will be deducted from the eventual purchase price that the state will offer in the end.
