On Monday, the representatives of Government, employers and trade unions failed to reach an agreement on the minimum monthly wage in Slovakia for next year. The Labour Ministry submitted a proposal to increase the minimum monthly wage by €30 to €435 at the meeting. However, the trade unions request a more significant hike. The Ministry claims that their proposal on the minimum wage is the result of an analysis into the social situation in Slovakia and the expected positive developments of the country's economy next year. According to Labour Minister Ján Richter the social partners will hold further talks on the matter in the near future.
