Victims of Nazi repressions remembered in Kalište

Last weekend, around 3,000 people, including Prime Minister Robert Fico, his deputy Peter Pelegrini and war veterans, took part in the 11^th annual Meeting of Generations remembering Nazi repressions in the village of Kalište. This village played a crucial role in the Slovak National Uprising against Nazi Germany. In the spring of 1945, Kalište was burned down and its citizens killed after the Wehrmacht suppressed the uprising.
