Róbert O., an alleged mafia boss in eastern Slovakia, was sentenced to life in prison by the Special Court in Pezinok on Tuesday. Moreover, fifteen other members of his criminal group were sentenced to imprisonment with sentences ranging from 3.5 years to life. However, the decision is not yet final, as several of the accused have appealed against their sentences. The criminal group led by Róbert O. had been active in eastern Slovakia since 2000, being involved in armed robberies, murders, blackmail and illegal weapons possession.
