In a second secret straw poll of the UN Security Council, the Slovak candidate for the post of UN Secretary General Miroslav Lajčák ended 10th out of the 11 candidates. The poll shows preferences of the members of the UN's highest body before the official vote. "The election process continues, therefore it would be premature to comment on it," reported the Foreign Ministry, led by Lajčák. The first in the poll was former Portuguese Prime Minister António Guterres. Further rounds of polls of the UN Secretary General election are planned for August or September, with the final election taking place later in autumn.
