Since Sunday, victims of the Second World War from the town of Prievidza, Western Slovakia, are now commemorated via engraved brass plates on cobblestones. The small memorials, created to remind the public of the crimes of the holocaust, were installed in the town by German artist Gunter Demnig, author of the world renowned project called 'Stolpersteine'. He was asked to do so by the civic association 'Together we are Prievidza'.
