Nuclear power covered 55.7% of electricity consumption in 2015

Nuclear power plants produced 55.7% - the largest share of electricity in Slovakia's energy mix last year, stated the Economy Ministry. However, an annual drop by 0.8% was recorded in overall production compared to 2014. "A 5.1% drop was recorded also in electricity generated by hydroelectric power. Conversely, fossil fuel power stations recorded growth in production - by 0.3% and generation from other sources of electricity also rose by 26%.
