The Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry has launched measures aimed at stabilizing dairy production in Slovakia and supporting employment, reported the ministry on Wednesday. The state-run company Slovakia's Breeding Services has sent out almost 2,700 contracts, plus questionnaires, to all cattle breeders throughout the country. Through this, the Agriculture Ministry wants to find both the strong and weak points in Slovak cattle breeding and provide a basis for further supportive measures. The Finance Ministry has already allocated €33 million for the project. "If breeders engage in active communication, almost the entire amount of subsidies could be paid out by the end of August," stated the Agriculture Ministry.
