The Turkish embassy has labelled the reaction of the Stella Apartments as inacceptable, backward thinking and discriminatory. The private hotel located in a classy neighbourhood of Bratislava refused to accommodate Turkish students for alleged security reasons. As one of the students wrote on his social network profile, the hotel staff claimed they did not want to accommodate Turks or Arabs. The Slovak Foreign Ministry together with Slovak hoteliers condemned the hotel's conduct. Moreover, in reaction to the incident, the website booking.com deleted the hotel from its database. The Stella Apartments rejected accusations of racism and regarded its attitude as reasonably careful towards their clients.
