Speaker of Parliament Andrej Danko of the Slovak National Party wants to limit the speaking time of MPs. This is in reaction to when extraordinary sessions on no-confidence votes against Prime Minister Robert Fico and Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák took place, whereby the Opposition used excessive speeches as obstructions. According to Deputy Speaker of Parliament Lucia Nicholsonová from the Opposition party Freedom and Solidarity, limiting the speaking time for MPs during discussions could prove to be a test for their rhetorical abilities. However, she is concerned that the changes are aimed against the Opposition seeing as the full details of the changes have not been published.
