On Monday 25 Slovak police officers traveled to the Serbian-Hungarian border, where they are to help with patrolling the EU border. "We responded very quickly to an appeal from our Hungarian colleagues resulting from a worsening situation at the outer EU border," stated Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, pointing to favorable results of the Slovak police on similar missions abroad. Last year Slovakia sent almost 300 police officers to Hungary, Slovenia, Macedonia, as well as to Italy and Greece.
