Several hundred people from the Czech Republic and Slovakia hiked up the hill of Veľká Javorina on Sunday, to take part in a celebrative event dedicated to the brotherhood of their nations. The highest peak of the White Carpathians, which straddles the border of the two countries, hosted this meeting for the 24th time. "It's a commemoration of the joint nation, in which we lived with our Czech brothers for more than 70 years. There is a lot to remember and I think that Czechs and Slovaks have always been the closest among the European nations," said Trenčín region governor Jaroslav Baška at the celebrations.
