British Prime Minister Theresa May visits Slovakia
Britain plans on guaranteeing the right to work in the country for Slovaks and other EU citizens, as long as British citizens enjoy the same rights being guaranteed in the EU, stated Theresa May during her meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava on Thursday. Presently around 90,000 Slovaks work in the UK. Regarding Brexit, Robert Fico said he respects the outcome of the British referendum. May repeated that London will not file an application to leave the EU by the end of this year, and it aims to be a fully-fledged EU member until the very last moment. Aside from Brexit and the EU's future, the prime ministers discussed trade partnerships between their countries. May believes that cooperation in this area should remain upbeat in the future.
