Following a recent nationwide blitz on motorists, police have aligned their sights this week to target Bratislava motorists in particular. The police operation aims to fine those caught without seatbelts, exceeding speed limits, and those caught under the influence of alcohol.
“We will be checking for the use of safety belts and restraint systems while driving the vehicle, and the use of helmets for motorcycle riders and their passengers. Attention will also be paid to pedestrians and cyclists,” said police spokesperson Karina Považanová. Additionally, police will be targeting those on the roads without reflective clothing when in poor visibility. The operation is aimed at reducing accidents and the consequences of accidents.
