The European Commission has approved the sale of a 66% share in the Slovak power producer Slovenské elektrárne from Italian company Enel to Czech company Energetický průmyslový holding (EPH). The European Commission announced that the transaction will not lead to endangering economic competition, as the companies' activities overlap only to the small extent and will eventually face strong competitors on the market. The electricity producers agreed on the sale in December last year with preliminary price at the level of €750 million. The owner of the remaining 34% share is the Slovak Republic.
