The EU should pay more attention to cyber security, stated Slovak Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš on Wednesday after opening an EU conference on cooperation in the field of cyber defence. Gajdoš also added that the EU should support the political, operational and technical cooperation of its member states in the field of cyber security and should also extend cooperation with its key partners such as the US and NATO. The conference was the first international session conducted by the Slovak Defence Ministry during the Slovak presidency of the EU Council. This April, a live fire cyber defence exercise called NATO Shields 2016 was held in Estonia, with Slovak soldiers scoring the highest of the 26 NATO teams. The exercise is the biggest and most advanced international event in the world.
