Since 2003, Slovakia has been providing more than €600 million in aid to foreign countries. Slovakia provides development assistance to Kenya, South Sudan, and Afghanistan as program countries with long-term cooperation.
It also helps countries of the Western Balkan (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia), EU Eastern Partnership countries (Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), and the Southern Partnership (Tunisia, Egypt). The basic sectorial priorities of Slovak official development aid has focused on democracy-building, healthcare, education, nature conservation, climate change, and the development of agriculture.
