Sagan secures green jersey after third win

Slovak cyclist Peter Sagan won the sixteenth stage at Tour de France on Monday thus securing the green jersey. His third win at this edition of the Tour had to be decided by finish-line photography, as the Norwegian Alexander Kristoff was only inches behind him. The Slovak also extended his lead among sprinters from 62 to 114 points ahead of the second cyclist. Most of the five remaining stages do not favour sprinters. Therefore, only abandoning the competition would prevent Sagan from keeping the green jersey as the best sprinter until the end, and turning his fifth appearance at the tour into the fifth win among sprinters.
