Changes in rules regarding divorces
19. 07. 2016 14:23 | News

The rules regarding divorces in Slovakia have changed as of July. A partner can no longer obtain a divorce without being present in court. If the spouse who filed for the divorce does not come to the trial, the proceedings stop. The law explicitly indicates that the court can call upon the partners to find a solution using mediation. This change has been introduced by a new civil 'out-of-court' order which has replaced 50-year-old trial rules.
