Protests against Interior Minister continue
On Monday, the opposition parties Ordinary People and Freedom and Solidarity organised the fifth round of weekly protests to call on Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák to step down. About 200 people gathered in the town of Nitra, western Slovakia and around 700 protested in Bratislava. The Opposition accuses Kaliňák and other government members including PM Robert Fico of being linked to an alleged tax fraudster Ladislav Bašternák, though they deny all accusations. Four members of the European parliament including two members of Fico's Smer-SD party and French MEP Eva Joly also called for Kaliňák to step down.
