The average monthly salary in Slovak industry grew by 3.1% year-on-year to €1,011 in May, reported the Slovak Statistics Office. The most rapid increase of 7.6% was recorded in the sale and repair of motor vehicles. A fall in salaries was reported only in information and communications activities; by 5.1% percent to €1,644. Employment rose year-on-year in several sectors in May, especially in the sale and repair of motor vehicles; by 4.3%, and industry; by 3.7%. The most significant drop in employment in this period was 5.7%, recorded in wholesale.
