The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute has issued a heatwave alert for Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures expected to reach 35-36 degrees Celsius. This concerns most of the territory of Slovakia. The only exceptions are some of the northern districts and the High Tatra Mountains. Storms are expected in Western and Eastern Slovakia too. On Monday, almost one hundred people collapsed across Slovakia due to high temperatures. Most cases were recorded in the Prešov region, the fewest in the Bratislava region.
