Industrial production went up by 5.9 percent year-on-year in May, according to the Slovak Statistics Office. The figure has been influenced by an 8.1 percent rise in manufacturing and a 12.5 percent drop in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supplies. According to UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia analyst Ľubomír Koršňák, the car industry continued to be the main driving force of the processing industry, reaching historical output records in May; up by 18.7 percent year-on-year.
