Trams start travelling across Danube again

The tram connection between Petržalka, the largest borough of Bratislava, and the rest of the Slovak capital will reopen after 55 years on Friday evening. Residents of Petržalka will be able to use two lines across the new 'Old bridge'. The bridge was built in the 19th century, destroyed during WWII, newly built in 1946 and the most recent reconstruction concluded in 2016. The official reopening will be accompanied by a cultural program.
