Eighty-eight percent of Slovaks view the economic system of the country in a strongly negative light, while only 8 percent believe that it's fair for everybody. This stems from the Transatlantic Trends 2013 public-opinion survey conducted by the German Marshall Fund of USA.
According to sociologist Olga Gyarfasova, many people consider our economic and social system to be unfair, as its benefits are shared by a few people at the expense of the rest. The survey has also revealed that more and more Slovaks feel that they have been personally affected by the economic crisis. Some 88 percent of Slovaks reported that they have been affected by the crisis, which is 23 percent more than the EU average.
