"The summit of the European Leaders in Bratislava in September will carry out a stock-taking of EU policies," said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Wednesday in the European Parliament, in Strassburg. He introduced the priorities of the Slovak Presidency of the EU Council and also named three areas in which the upcoming Leader's summit in Bratislava should come up with specific conclusions. They include the EU's communication with the European public, addressing security threats, and economic and social issues. President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz wished Slovakia luck in the upcoming six-month period. He added that there are two issues on which the EU has to concentrate at the moment: the management of Brexit and the respective ramifications for European treaties.
