A no confidence vote against Prime Minister Robert Fico failed to start on Wednesday. The minimum required number of 76 MPs was not present in the Parliament. The extrordinary session was initiated by the opposition parties Freedom and Solidarity and Ordinary People. They claim that Robert Fico legitimises corruption by backing Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák. Kaliňák is allegedly linked to the tax fraud suspect Ladislav Bašternák. The Interior Minister has faced two no-confidence votes during last month, with the second being postponed last week. The postponed extraordinary session aimed at ousting Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák is scheduled to resume after the failed motion against the Prime Minister.
