The Slovak Martyrologium, a publication about some of the most significant personalities of Slovak history, was published on Monday. The book, by Christian historian Viliam Judák, sheds light on to 50 important people who lived in the territory of Slovakia from as far back as the ninth century. The book is being released symbolically on the eve of the holiday of Saints Cyril and Methodius. "The current turbulences in the EU point to the importance of rediscovering our roots. These people with their stories and values could help us in doing so," said Ivan Šulík, the director of the book's publishing house.
