Everything ready for Slovak presidency

The European Commission members, with its chair Jean-Claude Juncker, came to Slovakia on Thursday for a two-day visit for the occasion of assuming the Slovak presidency of the EU Council. The program will open with Juncker meeting Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, followed by a ceremonial concert. Slovakia is finalising the preparations. The ministers of its government should approve the priorities for the presidency on the very same day. Starting on Friday, Slovakia will lead the EU Council for the first time since joining the Union 12 years ago. The Slovak presidency is the 116th in the EU's history. The task of the presiding country is to conduct the legislation creating process of all committees and working groups as well as negotiations with the European Parliament and the European Council.
