RKN Global, of the United Arab Emirates, has announced that it has declined an €18 million investment subsidy for the construction of a security printing plant in Banská Bystrica. The company that planned to employ more than 1200 people stated the chief reasons behind their decision as being uncertainty around Brexit and the activities from the Slovak parliamentary opposition and the Slovak press. The company was supposed to receive €18 million in investment aid from Slovakia. Opposition parties criticised the fact that Prime Minister Robert Fico revealed the investment just days ahead of the general elections in March 2016, and the Ukrainian partners of the company.
