Bratislava District Court ruled on Monday that the public broadcaster Radio Television Slovakia (RTVS) has to apologise to the former Justice Minister and former President of Slovakia's Supreme Court. RTVS must apologise as well as pay €10,000 for non-material damage for a statement that was broadcasted in 2012 in a programme called Reporters. The statement in question was the claim of a psychiatrist that connected the health issues and deaths of two judges with the activities of Štefan Harabin in the justice department. According to the court, it was a metaphoric expression used out of context. The public broadcaster RTVS plans to appeal against the court's decision after a detailed study of the ruling.
