Slovaks going home from Euro 2016 after losing to Germany

Slovaks finished at the European Football Championship 2016 after a loss against Germany 0:3 in the eight finals, in Lille, France, on Sunday. As Associated Press agency wrote "the German national team showed their best performance at the tournament" and gave Slovaks no chance. The defeat could have been even higher but the Slovak goalkeeper Matúš Kozáčik stopped a penalty shot from Mesut Özil. Despite the loss against Germany - the current World Champion - Slovakia's head coach Ján Kozák is satisfied with Slovakia's first historic appearance at the European tournament: "We made it to the eight-finals in spite of a loss in the opening match with Wales," concluded Kozák.
