Opposition initiates another no-confidence vote against Interior Minister

Opposition parties have gathered enough signatures for a second no-confidence vote against Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák to be held in a few weeks. On June 7, Kaliňák survived a vote of no-confidence due to alleged links between him and a tax fraud suspect Ladislav Bašternák. Just a few days later new findings occurred in the case. They lead to a protest in front of the apartment of Prime Minister Robert Fico, which he rents from Bašternák. The opposition plans to hand in the required signatures for the vote on Friday. Parliamentary Chairperson Andrej Danko then will have seven days to call a session. If Kaliňák remains in his post, the Opposition plans to organize further protests.
