Parliamentary Chairperson Andrej Danko flew to the Vatican for a two day visit on Tuesday. Danko and his delegation took part in a state reception and a concert at the occasion of the saints Cyril and Methodius and the beginning of the Slovak presidency of the Council of the European Union. On Wednesday, Danko is to meet Pope Francis at the Papal Audience at Saint Peter's square in Rome. The Parliamentary chair plans to invite Pope Francis to Slovakia. Alongside Danko, the parliamentary vice-chair Béla Bugár, MP Richard Vašečka of the opposition party Ordinary People and Peter Sopko, the Slovak ambassador to the Vatican are taking part in the visit.
