United Nations criticises Slovakia’s child protection legislation

The United Nations' Committee on the Rights of the Child expressed serious concern about the increase in hate towards vulnerable groups of people in its press release on Monday. The UN calls for investigations of all anti-Roma, anti-Muslim and sexual orientation-related statements made by political and religious leaders. According to the committee, Slovakia should provide adequate accommodation in a community environment for migrating families with children. The UN expressed its concern also regarding the lack of steps taken in the fight against child trafficking. The Human Rights League in cooperation with the Coalition for Children filed a proposal to the Interior Ministry to improve the situation.
