Unemployment rate drops in May

"The unemployment rate in Slovakia fell to 9.45% in May 2016," stated Labour, Social Affairs and Family Minister Ján Richter on Monday. The drop represents a year-on-year decline of 2%. The number of open vacancies grew in all fields, except for the area of administrative jobs. Labour Minster Richter also stated that there is a real supposition for this trend to continue as the economy is growing and seasonal work will start soon. Unemployment could drop even drastically, however the lack of suitable candidates on the market is still slowing the trend down, stated analyst of UniCredit Bank Ľubomír Koršňák.
