The state coffer should see more money in coming years. According to the prognosis from the Finance Ministry, incomes from taxes and levies could increase by €130 million on average every year between 2013 to 2015. “Besides the [estimates envisaging] higher than expected growth for the Slovak economy, and an increase in real salaries after two years, I can say that we’ve been successful in combating tax evasion.
Compared with June’s prognosis, we expect better results in terms of the collection of taxes and levies to the tune of €132 million for this year,” Finance Minister Peter Kažimír told a press conference on Thursday, adding that the most significant positive changes are associated with VAT collection. He revealed that the latest estimates for 2013 count on a figure €100 million higher than what was predicted in June. The ministry claims that the predicted results will be facilitated by the expected growth in consumer demand on the part of households.
