The current migration crisis, of which Bratislava and Berlin have diverging views, energy security, the potential consequences of Great Britain leaving the EU and the priorities for the upcoming Slovak presidency of the EU Council dominated the agenda of the meeting of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday. According to Angela Merkel, aside from relocating immigrants, the two leaders agreed on most things, including the EU-Turkey agreement, EU boarder protection, and the fight against causes of migration. Prime Minister Robert Fico added that Slovakia's presidency will be dominated by the topics of an economically strong Europe, the advantages of a common market, sustainable migration and asylum policy and the role of Europe as a strong global player.
