Slovak Parliament approved a hike of 6% on average for teachers' salaries as of September this year. This will increase teachers' monthly incomes by approximately €40-€60 before tax. As of January 2018, their salaries should rise by 6% every year, if a condition of implementing significant changes in the education system is fulfilled. However, teachers' organisations and unions are unhappy as they have requested a monthly rise of €140 as of September in order to make teaching jobs attractive.
