Slovak and Turkish Foreign Ministers met in Bratislava

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák and his Turkish counterpart Ömer Çelik discussed the possible accession of Turkey in the EU in Bratislava on Tuesday. "We hope that we will witness progress in the accession of Turkey and also West Balkan countries to the EU," expressed Lajčák his expectations for the Slovak presidency of the EU Council that starts in July. The Slovak foreign minister explained to Çelik what the EU requires of a candidate county. The partners also discussed visa liberalisation for Turkey to the EU, a common solution to the migration crisis and the fight against extremism and terrorism.
