Increasing teachers' salaries is a hot topic that MPs will discuss on Tuesday. The government wants to introduce a 6% pay rise for teachers before taxes. However, the Slovak Teachers Chamber insists on a €140 increase per month in order to make the teaching profession attractive. The Edujobs.sk website states that fewer and fewer people want to work in the school system. The website pointed out a double annual increase of job offers in the education system. Earlier this year teachers held a series of protests asking for better pay and working conditions.
