Most farmers unhappy with subsidy system

"Only 28% of Slovak farmers are satisfied with the current system of financial aid," reads an analysis by the CEEC Research company and the O.M.C. Invest company. They feel that European Union's Common Agricultural Policy and its subsidy system discriminates against Slovak farmers as they receive lower payments and suffer stricter conditions than farmers from other states. It has a negative impact on competition in the market and it does not lead to increased effectivity. In order to help the farmers "the state should increase transparency and ease up on the bureaucracy of the financial aid system," concluded Mário Červenka, the executive manager of O.M.C. Invest.
