Ahead of the summer tourist season, the Railway Company Slovakia (ZSSK) has strengthened train connections to the High Tatras. Tourists will get to the mountains more easily from the region's capital Poprad, as well as from Strba, which is the end station of the cog railway to Strbske Pleso. Slovak railways will offer extra 12 trains daily to the mountains. According to the Director of Sales Jozef Schmidt, the increased number of trains will thus offer 150,000 more passenger seats per day.
