"The reconstruction of the building for the NATO Force Integration Unit in Bratislava is progressing according to schedule," confirmed the Slovak Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš while onsite on Thursday. After completion, the facilities will accommodate 41 persons: 21 members of the Slovak armed forces and 20 soldiers from other member states. The goal of the unit is to increase NATO's ability to act and to make deployment easier for NATO's Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF). The NATO Force Integration Unit will start operation on January 1, 2017.
